His wine estate was passed down from father to son. 1948The first private cellar in Tavel The first private cellar in Tavel Pascal Lafond&rsquo;s grandfather, Val\u00e9ry Taulier, built the first private cellar in Tavel. He contributed greatly to the development of the Tavel appellation by creating links between the Burgundy trade and Tavel. 1970A famous horse trotter A famous horse trotter Jean-Pierre Lafond, Val\u00e9ry Taulier&rsquo;s son-in-law, built his own wine estate. A passionate horse racing enthusiast, he named his estate Roc-Epine, in memory of Roqu\u00e9pine, the famous trotter who won the Grand Prix d&rsquo;Am\u00e9rique three times in a row in the late 1960s.
